These terms and conditions outline the guidelines and expectations for the "Silent Friends" program. By participating in this program, both listeners and those seeking support agree to abide by these terms.

2. Purpose

The purpose of the Silent Friends program is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can share their thoughts and feelings with a compassionate listener.

3. Definitions

Listener: A person who offers their time to listen to and support another person.
Speaker: A person who seeks support and shares their thoughts and feelings with a listener.

4. Confidentiality

All conversations between listeners and speakers are confidential. Information shared will not be disclosed to third parties unless there is a risk of harm to the speaker or others. Both parties agree to respect each other's privacy and maintain confidentiality outside the sessions.

5. Respect and Non-Judgment

Both listeners and speakers must treat each other with respect and without judgment. Discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

6. Boundaries

Listeners are not professional counselors or therapists and should not provide advice or engage in therapeutic practices. The relationship is based on listening and emotional support only. Both parties must respect personal boundaries and agree not to engage in a personal or romantic relationship during the program.

7. Time Commitment

Sessions should be scheduled at mutually convenient times. Both parties should be punctual and notify each other in advance if they are unable to attend a scheduled session.

8. Communication

Clear and open communication is encouraged to ensure the effectiveness of the support provided. Feedback on the program is welcome to help improve the experience for all participants.

9. Termination

Either party can terminate the relationship at any time if they feel uncomfortable or if the arrangement is no longer beneficial. Notice of termination should be communicated respectfully and with as much advance notice as possible.

10. Disclaimer

The Silent Friends program is not a substitute for professional mental health services. Participants experiencing severe emotional distress or mental health issues should seek help from a qualified professional.
